Spring Has Sprung with New Run Rewards for our Weekly Treks

Starting Tuesday, March 15th, Beer Trekkers are back on track with weekly runs. There’s a 6:30pm start, meeting behind the brewery for a quick stretch before, then heading out on a run or walk with our club leaders.

Calling all runners! Looking for a weekly social run, while enjoying local beer and food? Lost Worlds Brewing’s Beer Trekkers Run Club is back in its second season, where everyone is welcome, including all paces and even pets. This is the start of a weekly, year-round club with one- and three-mile routes to start, for both walkers and runners. Along with joining a community that shares a passion for running and winding down after with a cold brew, there is experienced leadership running alongside the group.

Beer Trekkers is free and running earns you rewards. Here’s all you have to do:

  1. Fill out and sign a membership card that is kept on file at the brewery.

  2. For every run/walk, we stamp your card. Every 5th run you get a beer and some cool brewery swag.

  3. Exhibit superior attendance and you’ll be rewarded with a limited run Beer Trekkers shirt.

Meet the Beer Trekker Leadership Team

Jeff McDaniels, along with Pepper, at the Dale Beatty Memorial 5K on March 12.

Jeff is an avid runner and looks forward to making Tuesday night Beer Trekker runs a part of his weekly running schedule. Jeff works for a Library automation company that provides the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library their self check out software and hardware. So, when you visit the Library and check out material, you support the community and a fellow runner. When not running, Jeff is a father of two adult children and Grandfather to an incredible 3-year-old Saydee Lynn. He is also very active in F3 Lake Norman and an avid golfer. Jeff is running 5-6 times a week and has run ten marathons, a bunch of halves, 10k, and 5K, all in the last ten years. Jeff is looking forward to being a part of the Beer Treekers community every week that shares the same passion for running and beer. “ Running is an individual event, but there is no better feeling than running or walking with a group that will encourage support and pushes me to do the best I can, and then there is beer at the end.

“I’m looking forward to encouraging runners and walkers from all levels together to do what we love.” Jeff’s favorite post-run beer is Vista, he says it’s “ just that good!”

Meryl, kicking off the first season of Beer Trekkers

Meryl joins us for season 2 of Beer Trekkers and we’re so excited she’s back! She co-led the group last year with Andrea Dell and now partners with Jeff to make each week fun and rewarding. Meryl works for a commercial interior design business which led her to her introduction to Lost Worlds Brewing in 2019. She enjoys being able to have the opportunity to be creative in order to help bring people’s visions come to life. She loves enjoying nature and being outdoors, whether it is running, biking or swimming. Meryl runs three to four times a week on various terrain. She runs all distances and even ran the Boston Marathon twice! She doesn’t have a ton of free time but when she does, she is taking her sons to sporting events or improving her mountain biking skills. Meryl is looking forward to this community every week that shares the same love for running and beer.

“I know how meaningful running can be. I’m looking forward to bringing runners and walkers from all levels together to do what we love.” Meryl’s favorite post-run beer is Emmer or any beer that is fruity!
