Proud to Partner with Shirley’s Angels
While we never imagined opening our doors serving to-go beers and stocking grocery coolers, we always knew that supporting non-profits doing good things in our community was part of the plan. We’ve had to pivot on a lot of things, but have not wavered in supporting organizations where our team is personally invested. Shirley’s Angels is one of those organizations and a partner you’ll likely hear more about in 2020. We’ll kick off our support by donating half of the LostAsana Yoga proceeds to them this week.
Meet Shirley’s Angels
Shirley’s Angels is a non-profit organization that was created to help those diagnosed with breast cancer by promoting breast cancer research and outreach, and provide education and breast cancer support to those who desperately need it.
The organization was started by Shirley’s daughters, Shannon and Stacey, to pay tribute to their mom’s tenacity and spirit while fighting stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer. Although Shirley lost her fight in 2006, the group is about carrying on her legacy and being a champion to those fighting breast cancer – who need hope and encouragement.
You are likely to meet Stacey and Shannon and their husbands, Doug and Brad, in our taproom someday – hopefully at an in-person event with a huge turnout for a great cause. They are active members of the Lake Norman community and all around good people. If you do, raise a glass to the tremendously supportive things that Shirley’s Angels do for women battling breast cancer.
