Lost Worlds Charlotte Announces First Community Partnership with South Charlotte Dog Rescue
As we prepare to open the doors of our Charlotte taproom, community partnerships are very important to us. Before we even lay out our beer line-up, we’d like to introduce you to an organization backed by a hard-working group of volunteers who rescue and rehabilitate dogs in need, providing them with a second chance at a happy life!
South Charlotte Dog Rescue (SCDR), our first community partner based in our Charlotte taproom (opening soon), was founded in 2015 and based in Waxhaw, NC. SCDR is 100% foster and volunteer based with a commitment to adopting the right dog, to the right home, at the right time.
“This sets us apart as we consider ourselves to be a placement agency, working with each adoptive family to match the personality and temperament of a dog to their home and lifestyle. This model ensures a long and happy relationship between the dog and their forever family",” says Danielle Spuler, President of SCDR.
SCDR has continually grown over the years and thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers we have rescued over 2,500 dogs and cats, many with extensive medical needs. Our dedicated volunteers and fosters are the backbone of the organization, providing essential care for the dogs in our foster program.
“We’re proud to partner with SCDR and provide a home base to help make a difference in their efforts to find qualified adopters and raise needed funds to ensure they can continue to support and rescue dogs in need of adoption,” says Dave Hamme, founder of Lost World.
You can expect monthly “meet and greets” with our four-legged friends at the brewery, as well as a big event this fall, where Lost Worlds will open our facility and access to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway to raise awareness and grow the base of support.
”The ability to reach new adopters and fosters will directly impact our goal of helping more dogs in need. We are so appreciative of the commitment Lost Worlds has to partner with organizations like ours to make a difference in their community,” says Spuler.
