Dire Wolf Skull

In contrast to the modern wolf, dire wolves are more massive and stouter, but with a smaller brain. Now extinct, dire wolves roamed the America’s until roughly 9500 years ago. The largest collection of dire wolf fossils have been obtained from the Rancho La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles.
