Neanderthal Skull

This skull is a replica of the most complete Neanderthal Skull ever discovered. It was found in 1908 in La Chapelle-aux-Saints, France. Neanderthals are distant relatives of the current line of modern humans who lived across Eurasia until about 40,000 years ago. There are multiple theories concerning their extinction including a small population size, in breeding, climate change, disease, and assimilation with modern humans.
