Introducing Saturnalia Chocolate Stout
Just in time for the holidays, this decadent Chocolate Stout brings good tidings to your taste buds. We named this beer Saturnalia after the Roman festival held in honor of the god, Saturn.
The Story
The festival started on the 17th of December and evolved into a week long event. During the festival, everyone was given a week off from work, including slaves. Many of the traditions associated with the Christmas were taken from Saturnalia. Gifts were exchanged. Festive candles and pine wreaths decorated homes. Throughout Saturnalia, large parties were hosted with lavish feasts, extensive gambling, and general merriment. The poet Catullus called Saturnalia – “the best of days.”
The Discovery
Lost Worlds Saturnalia Chocolate Stout is a dark, rich and full bodied American Stout. It is conditioned with Peruvian and Equadorian Cacao Nibs that give a silky and chocolaty flavor that compliments the chocolate and roasted malts used to make this decadent beverage.
