Meet Adventure Guide, Tiffine!
At Lost Worlds, we believe great beer is best enjoyed with great company, and our team is no exception. Each month, we’re spotlighting a few of the incredible Adventure Guides behind the bar who make our brewery feel like home. This time, we’re introducing Tiffine —a driven, adventure-loving, animal-rescuing powerhouse with a passion for fitness, healthy living, and a good pint of Twain’s Amber Ale. She originally from Denver, NC and now lives in Maiden with her German Shepard, Kaiser, and three rescue cats.
From running a wildlife rehabilitation center with her mom to skydiving and swimming in the Great Barrier Reef, Tiffine brings her adventurous spirit into everything she does. Grab a beer, settle in, and get to know her!
What’s your go-to Lost Worlds beer, and what’s the perfect meal to pair with it?
My go-to Lost Worlds beer is Twain’s Amber Ale! I would pair it with a good lean steak and veggies!
You run a meal prep business on the side—what’s one tip for people trying to eat healthier while juggling a busy schedule?
A tip I would give people to eat healthily is to not complicate meals. Simple is
always better, it never has to be an extravagant meal, it just needs to be balanced. So, find protein, a veggie and a hearty carb and just make sure your protein and veggies outweigh your carb amount.
If you could share a meal with any famous chef or food personality, who would it be and why?
If I could share a meal with a famous chef, it would be Teresa Cutter. Teresa is a
healthy chef who is a nutritionist and fitness trainer, which I think is amazing.
There are so many chefs out there that can cook incredible meals, but they are not nutritionally balanced, and I would love to learn a little from her about how she cooks and why she chooses what she makes.
We hear you're a big animal lover! Tell us about a rescue story or an animal that holds a special place in your heart.
I am a huge animal lover and have a million stories both good and bad but there’s one that has a big place in my heart. We had a little raccoon come in named Teddy. He came in as an injured baby, he had a chainsaw go through his back foot and cut off his tail. We bandaged his tail up and started laser treatments on his foot. Our team was able to heal his foot and tail, and he was the sweetest little thing. We were a little worried about his tail affecting his life in the wild, but it did no such thing, he was able to do everything all our other babies could do. Teddy grew up and learned to climb trees and swim and catch minnows and bugs and was a successful release.
If you could open an animal sanctuary anywhere in the world, where would it be, and what animals would you focus on?
This was probably the hardest question I’ve ever been asked because I want to save all animals but If I were to open an animal sanctuary, I would move out west with lots of land. I would continue to rescue raccoons and other mammals because I feel like they get the worst rep and need the most help. I would be willing to take in as many animals as I could to help them have a better life.
What’s one of the most adventurous things you’ve ever done (or hope to do one day)?
I travel a lot and love a good adrenaline rush so it’s a tough choice between skydiving and swimming in the great barrier reef in Australia. They would be my top adventurous things I’ve done so far and hope to add to the list in my travels. Oh, and I also love to go snowmobiling in the winter months!
What’s your dream day off look like—where are you, what are you doing, and of course, what’s on the menu?
My dream day off may sound boring to most but as I get older, I appreciate the little things. I would be at my house with my closest girlfriends with a bottle of cab a good charcuterie board and a fire going outback while we chat about our lives.
