Tell us about yourself… where you grew up, about your family, pets, school, etc.

I grew up in a small town in Oklahoma. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Culinary Arts, so I definitely know how to throw down in the kitchen! I just moved to Charlotte in mid-October with my wife, Ashley, and our two dogs, Charlie and Hazel. I’m a foodie and love discovering weird and unique foods. Some of my hobbies include brewing mead, exploring North Carolina, and playing video games.

What’s your go-to Lost Worlds beer, and what food would you pair it with?

Right now, it’s Otto’s Dunkelweizen. I’d personally pair it with some buffalo wings and blue cheese—it’s the perfect balance of malty sweetness with a spicy kick!

If you could travel anywhere in the world for an epic adventure, where would you go and why?

It’s a toss-up between Italy and Spain because of the food and culture. Both places have such a rich history, and, of course, the culinary experiences would be incredible!

What’s the best part about working at Lost Worlds Brewing?

I’d say the best part is creating a sense of community around a good pint of beer. There’s something special about seeing people connect, laugh, and share stories over a drink.

Congratulations on your recent promotion to Taproom Manager at Lost Worlds Charlotte! Tell us what this means for you.

It just means I get to put even more passion into this location. I came in at a great time to learn the ropes, and now I’m excited to grow this taproom and turn it into the go-to spot in Charlotte.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that most people don’t know!

No one ever believes me, but I have a black belt in Karate!

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things (besides beer) would you want with you?

A sleeping bag, a fire starter, and caffeine. Gotta stay warm, stay energized, and, of course, have my coffee!

What’s your favorite customer interaction or memorable moment behind the bar?

One that really stuck with me was a conversation with a guest who had driven all the way from Montana to deliver and donate beds to people in Western NC. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone so selfless and eager to help others. It was inspiring.

What’s one bucket list item you’re hoping to cross off soon?

Out-of-country travel. I’m ready to explore new places, experience different cultures, and, of course, try all the food!

Join us at Lost Worlds Brewing Charlotte to say hi to Jesse and let him pour you a pint of his favorite brew!
