Meet Dylan, the Man Behind Lost Worlds' Road Game

Dylan Peters’ journey to Lost Worlds Brewing is a story of passion, adventure, and a love for craft beer. Originally from Southern California, he grew up between San Diego and Los Angeles before heading to Azusa Pacific University, where he earned a degree in Psychology. His early career was spent in education, working as a teacher’s assistant and later as a Behavior Specialist. But a shift in interests led him to the craft beer industry, where he found a perfect blend of community, creativity, and opportunity. Four years ago, Dylan and his wife, Chloe, made the move to North Carolina, where they’ve built a life they love—one filled with paddle boarding, disc golf, brewery visits, and quality time with their three-year-old Golden Retriever, Brinkley. Now, as a key member of the Lost Worlds team, Dylan spends his days on the road, selling and delivering beer while building relationships across the region.

In this Q&A, he shares more about his role, what drew him to craft beer, and some of his favorite adventures along the way.

Tell us what a typical day looks like for you at Lost Worlds?

A typical day at Lost Worlds sees me on the road the majority of the time. I am out either on a sales call or delivering some delicious brews. I am on the road as far as Greensboro to the East and Boone to the NorthWest. If you see me driving one of the two vans we have, please honk and wave to me.

What led you to Lost Worlds and what do you enjoy most about your role?

I was bartending at a local craft brewery when I decided to leave education. While I love the industry, I did not love bartending, specifically the nights and weekend shifts. I had an interest in staying in the industry but pursuing sales. Lost Worlds was a brewery I frequented and was familiar with. They offered me the opportunity to stay in the industry and pursue my interests within the industry. It was too good of an offer to pass up. I love the flexibility that this role offers me to pursue my passion and to meet new and interesting people and businesses.

What attracted you to the craft beer industry and what keeps it interesting?

There was a point in my young adulthood where I did not like beer, a fact my family loves to point out often. But when I found craft beer, I instantly fell in love. While working in education, I remember telling Chloe that if I left education, I would like to try to work at a craft brewery, in any capacity. I love the people, the beer, and most importantly, the brewing community in the greater Charlotte NC area.

When you're putting on the miles making deliveries, what's your favorite playlist or genre of music?

It varies by day. But more often than not, you can find me listening to Jason Mraz, Blink 182, and Young the Giant. While also rotating to some true crime podcasts and audiobooks.

Do you have a favorite style of beer and favorite Lost Worlds beer?

I drink specific beer styles seasonally. But typically I love a Helles Lager or an Imperial Stout (Barrel Aged in available). My favorite Lost Worlds beer is probably Stinnes (Helles Lager) or Wardour (Cold IPA).

What's the best adventure you've ever been on?

My favorite adventure was in November of 2019 when Chloe and I went to Zion National Park. We spent 3 days there hiking the beautiful canyons. It was a bucket list trip that I am grateful we did. Other adventures include our many Disney trips. We were annual passholders for Disneyland for almost a decade and we try to make it to Disney World at least once a year since we moved here.
