Touching Tributes for Two Special Families: Squanto's Hidden Gems

While Lost Worlds admits to hiding “easter eggs” in our graphic and advertising materials, we tend not to explicitly share the hidden objects and their location. Today, an exception is being made as we show our support for two special families. This past week, Squanto's Pumpkin Ale was released into our taproom and there is more to the graphic than the surface layer.  Few of our easter eggs convey as much significance as those found on Squanto's Ale.

Since Lost Worlds opened during the pandemic, a mutually beneficial relationship grew with Choplin's Restaurant, located immediately beside our facility. They provided pub fare for our guests, who can order from their table and have the food delivered to the brewery. Elizabeth Choplin became a close friend to many of our team as she made daily deliveries to our guests. Unfortunately, Elizabeth is no longer visiting our taproom as she is waging a battle with cancer. To show our love and support for Elizabeth and the Choplin family, you will find Elizabeth's initials (EC) carved into the building to the left of the Squanto’s Spiced Pumpkin beer graphic. Elizabeth - we are thinking of you and pulling for you every day.

Take a close look for the “easter eggs” on this season’s Squanto’s Spiced Pumpkin Ale.

In addition to supporting Elizabeth, we honor another special individual. Jim Warren was the Executive Director of the Carolina Raptor Center and a close personal friend of Dave Hamme, Lost Worlds’ Founder. Jim lost his battle with cancer this year after a courageous fight. According to Dave, "Jim was one of those special individuals who simply made the world a better place." If you look to the right of Squanto, you will see an owl sitting on top of a fence post. Carved into the fence post are the initials JW. Jim will be missed.
